Hey, we're new...

In the coming months we'll be bringing you some information to introduce new users to the Unix/Linux operating systems and FREE Unix & Linux equivalents of Microsoft Windows software.

Welcome Eddie!

My good friend Eddie (Glider) has joined our ranks; he'll be helping with Data Acquisition and Maintenance of all general systems. This will help me out a lot as I won't have to be doing all of that plus development/script maintenance.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide a constantly updated resource for users who want to move away from overpriced Operating Systems with minimal security and expensive program licenses to a free, secure, and open source option... Linux (or Unix).

How?

Easy, we have the articles, the software titles, and the information to get you started, and to show you that Linux has everything Windows has to offer and more!

For example, you don't want to move to Linux because you've got programs that you have to have in Windows... Well, did you know that Windows programs have very good and secure Linux variants? Well, that is exactly what our Software resource is for!

Haven't decided on what Distribution is for you? Well, our Articles pages and Distribution Listing will help you learn the in's and out's and history of the best distributions we could find! From Slackware to Ubuntu, FreeBSD to OpenBSD, you should be able to find it here!

How Can I Help?

Well, we can't keep everything running without some help sometimes (though we do try!); we value user contributions, in fact, all of our systems where built to allow users to add to them. You can submit articles, distributions, software titles, etc. Just simply click the "Submit" link at the bottom of the main page of each section!
