The Go *nix Initiative is owned and operated by VNC Web Design & Development and is a partner of UGN Security and Back of the Web. This site is hosted by HostNuke Services
The Go *nix Initiative operates on Free Software. We run on the Apache web server running on the CentOS flavor of Linux. Our backend is running a MySQL database and PHP.
The Go *nix Initiative is built and maintained with Free Software. All pages have been created on the Ubuntu flavor of Linux
The Go *nix Initiative and Validity and Accessibility:
We built this site to be fully xHTML and CSS valid where available (there are exceptions, such as the firefox/crome "border" on forms, which is in the css3 spec which hasn't yet been approved). We also took the time to ensure that the site conforms to Section 508 standards for accessibility. We believe that the internet should be fully available and accessible to everyone, regardless of any disabilities or impairments that they may have.
